Elopement Weddings in Wales

Why Choose Wales?

North Wales is fast becoming the #1 place to elope, and with stunning places like Gwrych Castle (home of ITV's I'm A Celeb 2020) its easy to see why...This blog will explore different options when eloping to Wales and a sneak peek at some of the top secret locations couples love for a more private ceremony...

Hire a Cottage on Anglesey

Shelley & Josh eloped to Wales when they hired Plas Rhoscolyn, a stunning stone cottage in Anglesey along with their family for a long weekend in the countryside.  During their visit they celebrated their wedding with a personal and relaxed ceremomy in the most beautiful setting...the backdrop was perfect for their photos of their Welsh wedding.

Prior to their ceremony we exchanged emails and chatted on the phone to plan their special moment down to the last detail. I also offer the option of Zoom calls so we can chat face-to-face.

Picturesque Portmerion

Designed by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis to look like an Italian village, Portmeirion draws people from all over the globe.  Its charming buildings, pastel colours and sweeping landscape gardens make it the perfect location for a wedding ceremony. Although there are 3 licensed venues within the village, most couples opt for a celebrant so they can enjoy their ceremony outside with the impressive surroundings as their backdrop.

how to get married in wales

Here's Why Most Couples Leave Legalities at Home

Did you know if you live in England and wish to legally marry in Wales there is extra paperwork involved? In order to have your legally binding ceremony in another district from the one you live in, you will have to inform your local Superintentdent Registrar who will issue a permission to marriage notice in the district you register in and then a second copy will be printed in the district that you wish to carry out your legal proceedings.

Find out more about eloping to Wales and how a celebrant can transform your ceremony from generic and dull to lighthearted and personal. On your big day, you deserve nothing but the best.
